CHRISTMAS PARADE IN THE FRONT YARD

Standing tall and bright in the cold mornings
Elves, Santa, Sleigh and Reindeer
A Chimney, a Manger and some Wise Men,
Mother and Baby, 
A few shy Shepherds and a trio of Kings.

Wobbling gently in unclaimed open space
Stark against blue sky and red dirt
This parade of figures stridently declare
'It's Merry Christmas!'
 And demand attention from their out-of-place place.

Their plastic vibrance taunts the homesteaders.
