I have often thought of the world like a snow-globe when trying to explain the effect of all of us humans and our endeavors on the planet. I am not sure why it came up when I started writing on Sunday, and had no idea it would go where it did. I have learned to go where the words take me. In the political whiplash of the last 2 weeks I fear we have lost sight of where all this is taking place. What might happen in the future won't matter if there is no place in which to live. I haven't forgotten, and I urge all of us to keep paying attention, making demands for everything that can halt or even reverse the current rate of Global Warming.
INSIDE The world is really just a big snow-globe. You know, like we had as kids - little houses and trees and creatures inside their glass world - and we are flakes in it. It's a closed system - a planet, water, atmosphere - and it all goes round and round recycling back and forward. It fits neatly inside its own perfect globe.
